US President Donald Trump fired US Attorney General Pam Bondi before taking the podium Wednesday evening to address the nation on the Iran war, sources said.

Sources stated that Bondi had been released and was about to return to Florida when Trump spoke from the White House. Now it has been reported that he has run away from his home.

Todd Blanche, currently his deputy at the Justice Department, will be Bondi’s interim replacement.

Reports emerged a day before it was announced that Trump had recently considered firing his longtime partner Bondi over his dissatisfaction with her handling of the Epstein files. It has been revealed that Bondi was sensationally dismissed by Trump.

Trump is reportedly considering replacing Bondi with Lee Zeldin, the head of the Environmental Protection Agency, according to people familiar with the matter who spoke to The New York Times. Trump has previously referred to Zeldin as a “secret weapon” for the EPA as he “got these approvals” in record-breaking time.

According to NBC News, Bondi and Trump got into a heated verbal argument last week, but the exact subject of the dispute remains unclear.

According to NBC News, Bondi and Trump got into a heated verbal argument last week, but the exact subject of the dispute remains unclear.

Earlier Wednesday, photos emerged of the President and Bondi traveling together to the U.S. Supreme Court; These photos led to a landmark decision that blocked attempts to eliminate birthright citizenship during the President’s aggressive immigration drive.

An “unhappy” Bondi tried to persuade Trump to reconsider his plan after learning about it, an insider revealed.

Trump reportedly informed the attorney general on Wednesday night, minutes before his disastrous war speech on Iran, that his tenure at the Justice Department would soon end, a senior administration official told The Daily Mail.

Bondi responded by calling on the president to give her additional time in office, but Trump reportedly remained firm in his decision to fire her.

Zeldin, who has a background in law, became New York’s youngest lawyer in 2004 at the age of 23. He ran a crisis management and public relations firm from 2023 to early 2025.

As EPA administrator, Zeldin, 46, claims to have overseen “the largest act of deregulation in the history of the United States.”

He has previously stated that his mission is to deliver the president’s vision of “energy dominance.” As a result, he has implemented significant environmental regulations, including working to lift protections for endangered species and wetlands and repeal rules on emissions and pollution.

Most importantly, under Zeldin’s administration, the EPA reversed a 2009 hazard finding under the Obama administration that determined greenhouse gases could be regulated under the Clean Air Act because they pose a threat to public health. Approximately 20% of greenhouse gas emissions, which trap heat in the atmosphere and cause climate change, come from the exhaust of cars and pickup trucks. More emissions come from airplanes, power plants, and oil and gas facilities.

Democrats on the House Oversight Committee accused Bondi of violating the law in directing the release of documents related to the Jeffrey Epstein case.

“Despite clear legal requirements and law Donald Trump Virginia Rep. James Walkinshaw (D) told Kentucky Rep. James Comer (R) during a hearing in January.

“This makes a mockery of the law,” Walkinshaw said at the time, later adding: “This is not an accident, it’s intentional.”

It followed reports that Trump blushed at a reporter’s question before things quickly resolved.
