Paris Hilton breaks her silence on claims Ghislaine Maxwell tried to recruit her as Trump U-turns and urges the release of Epstein files

Paris Hilton has addressed reports that Ghislaine Maxwell tried to recruit her for Jeffrey Epstein after it was claimed she thought the heiress would be “perfect for her”.

Hilton, now 44, was just 19 when she was spotted by Maxwell at a party, and Maxwell reportedly told friends she was targeting the teenager for Epstein.

Maxwell, who dated notorious sex offender Epstein for several years in the nineties, was said to be scouting parties looking for girls to date Epstein.

Maxwell was later convicted and sentenced for her role as Epstein’s ‘chief recruiter’ and partner in his sex trafficking operation.

But despite Maxwell’s claims about Hilton, the mother-of-two insisted she “doesn’t remember meeting him at all”.

During a recent interview Sunday Times Paris magazine claimed: ‘I don’t even remember meeting him.’

Hilton later stated that she may have been dragged into the media storm at the time because of the weight her name carried, adding: ‘I’m a very good clickbait name.’

Meanwhile, President Trump has called on Republicans in the House of Representatives to vote to release the so-called Epstein Files, marking a reversal of his previous stance.

More than 20,000 pages of documents have been released from the disgraced financier’s estate, revealing how the late convicted sex offender repeatedly mentioned Trump in private correspondence from 2011 to 2019.

Allegations about Maxwell’s plans for Hilton were made by a former friend of the British socialite in 2020.

Christopher Mason said Maxwell stopped in his tracks and said ‘oh my god’ when he saw a young Hilton at a party.

Maxwell said she would be ‘perfect for Jeffrey’ and asked a friend: ‘Can you introduce us?’

Mason, a British journalist living in New York who has known Maxwell since the 1980s, did not give the date of the encounter.

But it appears that it was around 2000 when Hilton signed up with Donald Trump’s modeling agency, T Management, and began her rise to fame.

At that point he would be 19 years old and on the verge of stardom.

Mason narrated this episode for the documentary series Surviving Jeffrey Epstein.

In the documentary, a photo from the Anand Jon Fashion Show held in New York on September 18, 2000 is reflected on the screen.

Trump is on the left, Hilton is in the middle, and to her left is Maxwell, wearing sunglasses and smiling broadly.

She met Epstein in the early 1990s when her father, the disgraced newspaper baron Robert Maxwell, moved to New York following the death of her father.

In the documentary, Mason explains that people were “confused” by the relationship between Maxwell and Epstein, who had been together for a while in the 1990s.

Mason said: ‘Rumors were that Ghislaine was finding young girls to go on dates with Jeffrey in New York. He seemed a little naughty at the time.

Trump has historically been photographed at social gatherings with Epstein, but has repeatedly said he broke off contact with the financier in 2004, years before his 2008 conviction for soliciting a minor into prostitution.

Democrats on the House Oversight Committee released a series of email exchanges between Epstein and disgraced socialite Maxwell, many of which referenced Trump.

Hours after that, Republicans responded, claiming there were nearly 20,000 additional pages.

One of the first published emails was sent to Maxwell in 2011. In it, Epstein wrote: ‘I want you to understand that that dog that doesn’t bark is Trump.

‘[VICTIM] ‘I spent hours with him in my house and he was never mentioned.’ He added that ’75 percent of it is there.’ Maxwell replied: ‘I was thinking about that…’

The name redacted in this exchange was later identified as Virginia in the larger body of documents, a reference to prominent Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre.

In February 2019, Epstein told another person that he was aware of what was going on at Trump’s home, saying: ‘Trump knew about it. and he came to my house many times during that period. ‘He’s never had a massage.’

He also wrote: ‘Donald is not close to anyone. He speaks to many people. ‘He says something to everyone.’

In another cable from 2018, Epstein accused Trump of being “dirty” and boasted that he was “the one who could take him down.”

The US President publicly broke up with Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene over her effort to release documents that some believe could link her to Epstein’s crimes.

Greene, a U.S. House member from Georgia, was one of Trump’s most ardent supporters but said her life was now in danger after derogatory comments she made on Truth Social.

In an angry post, the president branded her a ‘ridiculous lunatic’ and ‘Marjorie Traitor Greene’ and accused her of betraying the Republican Party by ‘turning left’.

Greene said on Saturday that Trump’s attack triggered a wave of threats against her, insisting she was not a traitor and calling Trump’s comments “hurtful.”

‘These are the kinds of words that could radicalize people against me and put my life in danger,’ Greene said.

But Trump was even more insistent on Sunday, ignoring her warning and telling reporters he didn’t believe anyone was targeting him.

On Sunday morning, Greene told CNN that Trump calling her a traitor was the “most hurtful” part of his remarks.

Trump repeated the insult hours later. “Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Greene,” he said, referring to the MP.

He linked his rift with the president to Trump’s support for the release of the Epstein Files, which he dismissed as a ‘hoax’ pushed by Democrats.

But in a U-turn Sunday night, Trump encouraged his fellow Republicans in Congress to vote to release the files.

“House Republicans must vote to release the Epstein files because we have nothing to hide and it is time to abandon this Democrat Hoax perpetrated by Radical Left Crazies,” the president wrote.
