Parry Street fire: Firefighters respond to building fire near intersection of Pier Street in Perth

Firefighters raided a burning building in Perth on Tuesday afternoon amid concerns someone could be trapped inside.
Emergency services were first alerted to the fire on Parry Street, near the intersection of Pier Street, at around 4.20pm by a concerned motorist who noticed smoke coming from the roof of a property.
The fire engulfed the entire building until firefighters arrived, but it was largely brought under control around 16.30.
A Department of Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said firefighters’ search of the building eliminated concerns that someone was trapped inside.
St John WA paramedics were dispatched to the scene but were not required to treat anyone. The police also responded.
