Air India issues travel warning

Flights to and from Delhi, Amritsar, Varanasi, Darbhanga, Jammu, Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Patna, Guwahati and Bagdogra are expected to be affected on Tuesday, December 30, Air India said in its travel advisory. “All departures/arrivals and subsequent flights may be affected due to adverse weather conditions (poor visibility) expected at Delhi (DEL), Amritsar (ATQ), Jammu (IXJ), Ayodhya (AYJ), Gorakhpur (GOP), Varanasi (VNS), Darbhanga (DBR), Patna (PAT), Guwahati (GAU) and Bagdogra (IXB). IndiGo travel advisory

IndiGo has also issued a weather alert warning passengers about possible flight disruptions due to fog in northern India. In its advisory, the airline said: “As the weather continues to evolve in northern India, fog is expected to develop late at night and extend into the morning, reducing visibility at various airports in the region. As per the forecast, flight movements may see some impact and some delays are possible as operations adapt to current conditions. We remain vigilant and continue to monitor the weather closely to ensure your journey goes as smoothly as possible.”

Spicejet travel warnings

Spicejet also issued the following warnings to passengers due to low visibility and fog: “#WeatherUpdate: Due to bad weather conditions (poor visibility) in Delhi (DEL), all departures/arrivals and subsequent flights may be affected. Passengers are kindly requested to check their flight status at http://spicejet.com/#status.”

Meanwhile, Delhi airport experienced 128 flight cancellations and 8 rerouting due to fog on Monday. According to PTI, an official said that 64 departures and 64 arrivals were canceled and 8 flights were diverted due to dense fog and low visibility conditions at the Delhi airport.
