Patients to get online access to specialists ‘from comfort of home’ – Streeting

The health secretary said that thanks to a new NHS Online Hospital that provides access to experts in the UK, it will be seen faster than the comfort of their own homes or tables ”.

Wes Streeting, PA news agency, people can use a “virtual hospital” from 2027 to talk to experts, and those who prefer face -to -face appointments can still have them.

In his speech at the Labor Party Conference, Sir Keir Starmer also mentioned the online change and said that NHS Online would make a digitally “appointment”.

The Prime Minister, who announced the new service, said that the government would not receive face -to -face consultancy for those who want this ”.

He said: “Think of a single mother hokbaz, try to find time to talk to a specialist or in later years, live in a hospital miles that live in a rural community miles from a hospital and need a control for a suspicious eye condition.

“Why a doctor doesn’t see you at home in a seating room on an iPad, you talk to you? No tail, no three -hour bus trips, no cancellation letters after the date of appointment.”

Previously, Mr. Streeting Pa said: “This is a workers’ government that not only raises our NHS, but also modernizes it in a way that suits the future.

“NHS Online is our new virtual hospital.

“For some patients with some patients with safe and appropriate conditions, patients – around the houses, GPs, then to the hospital, then for control and scanning, again – faster and more comfortable way, faster and more comfortable than the comfort of their own homes, they can be seen in a faster and more comfortable way by a person who can have something faster and more comfortable, or more comfortable, or more comfortable, or more comfortable, or more comfortable, or more comfortable. A person who can diagnose somehow or by a person who can diagnose it will be more comfortable, comfortable and easier for patients.

“What is exciting about online NHS is that we adopt a proven approach to work in some hospitals and spread throughout the country.

“For example, in Southampton, they tried it for patients with chronic intestine, and by adopting this approach, patients are more faster, comfortable, online, given the support they need.

“For them, the hospital releases the appointments of the hospital face -to -face for those who need them.

“If it’s good enough for Southampton, why doesn’t it be everywhere?

“Of course, only for the circumstances it is safe and effective.

“And, of course, there will always be some people who say ‘I want to see someone face -to -face’.

“And the good news is about it, everyone wins.

“For those who are seen as online and want to be faster and more suitable for those who want to see someone face -to -face, the extra capacity we create means that these people receive better service.”

The government estimates that moving to a virtual hospital will make an extra appointment for 8.5 million extra appointments for three years.

Moorfields Eye Hospital in London said, “A really great online triaage for some patients, I am much faster access to the right care.”

The new system will work using teams to trigger patients through the NHS application after making an appointment with GP.

People will be able to make a first appointment with an expert from all over the country online and then chat with them using video if they want.

NHS, UK, said that the use of experts throughout the country will help the dissemination of demand because patients are no longer withdrawn by long local waiting lists.

Patients can also book and monitor their prescriptions for recommended tests or scans.

Initially, the focal point said it would have a small number of planned treatment areas with the longest waiting, but NHS will expand to other areas over time.

“This is a new and potential way to improve the game of Equality and Access to NHS services that will reduce health inequalities and the speed of access to NHS services that will reduce health inequalities.

“Obviously, we must make sure that digitally non -effective ones are not punished in any way, but if this approach can be safely and effectively, it can also be a potentially good thing if it releases capacity in bricks and mortar hospitals.”

Dr Becks Fisher from Nuffield Trust said: “It makes sense to make patients a free choice to choose these new digital services or to choose outside.

“This should mean that NHS will not close those who want care personally.

“However, there are some difficult questions about how this new service will be applied: can doctors and nurses to undertake this work without affecting the current face -to -face work?

“And how will they spend patients who need to look at physical services from digital?

“This service will only be safe and appropriate for certain patients.

“How do we make sure that they are held?”

Daniel Elkeles, General Manager of NHS providers, said that the online hospital service could be a “very important” development.
