Patna court extends Khan Sir’s protection from arrest till June 30 in coaching firing case

A court in Patna on Saturday, June 27, 2026, extended the stay of arrest of educator Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, in connection with the coaching institute dismissal case until the next hearing on June 30, his lawyer said.

The case relates to the sacking incident that took place in early June after Khan Sir’s coaching institute was allegedly vandalized by a group of miscreants. Security guards are accused of opening fire during the incident.

Khan Sir’s name was mentioned in the FIR and the court granted him protection from arrest on June 9.

An updated case log was presented at the last hearing and the matter was postponed to Tuesday, June 30, 2026.

“The updated case diary has been submitted by the investigating officer. The matter has been listed for arguments on Tuesday and the ‘no coercive action’ order against Khan Sir will remain in force till then. The final hearing is expected to be held that day,” his lawyer Arvind Kumar Mouar told reporters.

Mr Mouar said the case involving Khan Sir’s security guards, who were linked to the same incident, was also listed for hearing on Tuesday.

“Khan Sir is cooperating with police and investigators,” he said.
