Patrick Mahomes’ mom honors Brittany Mahomes, late mother on Mother’s Day

The mother of Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes is enjoying her day this year, but she made sure to show some love to the other moms in her life with a heartfelt post on Instagram on Sunday.
Randi Mahomes took to social media to show how “grateful” she is to her daughter-in-law, Brittany Mahomes, and her late mother, Debbie Martin.
“Happy Mother’s Day to these two amazing moms!” Randi wrote in the photo caption:

Randi’s first photo was with her mother, who was wearing her grandson’s No. 15 Chiefs jersey. He passed away in 2023.
“I miss my mom a little more today. Her love shaped the way I love my own family, and I’m forever grateful for everything she gave me.”

As the photo carousel continued, Randi showed some love to Patrick’s wife and mother of his three children, Brittany.
“Brittany, you are an incredible mother,” Randi continued. “Watching the love, patience and joy you pour into your babies every day is so special and I am so proud of you. Being a mother and now a Grandi is the greatest blessing.”
“Hold your mothers a little tighter today.”

Randi, Brittany and the rest of the Mahomes family, including dad Patrick Mahomes Sr. and the rest of the Mahomes family, including brother Jackson Mahomes, are regulars at Chiefs games throughout the season to watch the two-time NFL MVP get to work on game day.
But Randi said there was a time when his son considered not playing football anymore. It was up to the mother to clear up any doubt.

During an Instagram Q&A in April 2025, Randi Mahomes said: “There were times when he got a little depressed, there was even a time in high school where he wanted to quit football. Yeah, he did.”
Patrick was an all-around baseball player like his father, who had an 11-year career in Major League Baseball. But he was also a two-year starter at quarterback during his time at Whitehorse High School in East Texas, where he also met his future wife, Brittany.

While Patrick continued his football career at Texas Tech, he eventually became the Chiefs’ first-round draft pick in 2017, and his family supported him along the way.
