Paul Weller sues after being dropped by accountants

20 August 2025 12:44 | News

Paul Weller filed a lawsuit against his former accountants after he stopped working with the British singer because they were uncomfortable with the comments he claimed to have made genocide in Gaza.

The former prime minister of the jam made a claim of discrimination against Harris and Trotter after the firm ended his professional relations after more than 30 years.

In a pre-action letter by the PA News Agency, lawyers for Weller said that the singer-relevant writer will not work with 67-year-old or companies of accountants and tax consultants in March.

Weller also realizes a “Gig for Gig for Gig ıyla sold in London with other musicians in October.

According to the letter, a WhatsApp message from a partner in the firm contained the reason for interrupting the relationship.

“Israel, Palestinians and Gaza are well known what your political views are, but as a company, we claim that Israel has made all kinds of genocide,” he said.

“Everyone is entitled to their own views, but you claim that we are not ready to work with someone with these views as a company with Jewish roots and as many Jews.”

For Weller, lawyers end their services, saying that the company’s illegal discrimination against the protected philosophical beliefs of the company, that Israel is genocide in Gaza and that Palestine should be recognized as a nation state.

Weller, ‘Apartheid, Ethnic Cleaning or Genocide, always spoke against injustice’ he said.

“What is for the Palestinian people in Gaza is a disaster,” he said.

Orum I believe that they have the right to self -determination and protect their own destiny within the scope of international law, and I believe that Israel is genocide against them. This should be called.

“It is not just censorship to silence those who speak this fact – this is complex.

“I am taking legal action to help me not be punished not only for myself, but also for expressing their beliefs about the rights of the Palestinian people.”

In the legal letter, Weller will donate the damages it suffers from humanitarian aid in Gaza.

Weller’s lawyer Cormac McDonough says that the case is “a wider model of attempts to silence artists and public figures speaking to support Palestinian rights.”

“Especially in the music industry, we see efforts to marginalize those who express solidarity with the people of Gaza,” he said.
