Former Arsenal star Thomas Partey granted bail on rape charges
Former Arsenal footballer Thomas Partey, rape and sexual assault charges after the court was given conditional bail.
The 32 -year -old Ganalı midfielder was accused of five rape against two women and sexual assault against a third woman.
His face remained empty and did not react because he detailed the alleged crimes.
The court heard that a sample was allegedly realized when the midfielder was on vacation in Spain.
It is also claimed that he was sexually assaulted at a woman in February 2022.
Defense Emma Fenn did not object to all of the six numbers directed to the crown court.
As the bail conditions were discussed in court, Paul Goldspring, the chief magistrate judge, said: “Now I understand that he has not worked in this country and that he did not play in Spain now.”
Mr Goldspring, who addressed Partey with his arms behind his arms, said he had faced five charges and should be heard in the Crown Court.
“The sixth accusation can be sent if a concerned crime,” he said. “Therefore, all of the six accusations will be sent to the crown court in Old Bailey.”
Partey gave conditional bail, but warned that he should not contact any of the complainants and change their address, stay at a different address for more than 14 days or travel abroad.
“You will be arrested, if you violate any of these conditions, you will come back before me and you will almost definitely be detained,” he said.
Metropolitan police said that he first received reports on the claim of rape in February 2022. Four days after leaving Arsenal in June after the period of his contract with the club was expired, accusations were brought against Partey.
Prosecutors, alleged crimes, as well as the number of sexual assaults, one woman against two rape and three points against the other, he said.
The 32 -year -old Partey joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in 2020. The club had 35 matches in the 2024/25 campaign, which finished the Premier League for the second time and reached the semi -finals of the champion league.
His lawyer said that he was “finally welcomed the opportunity to clean the name”.
On September 2, Old Bailey will be in court.
