A family-run cafe located inside a shopping mall in England collapsed and went into liquidation. The cafe, which has been serving its customers at cheap prices since 2016, is located in the Clyde Shopping Center in Clydebank, just northwest of Glasgow city center, Scotland.
Foodfillas has branded itself as an “independent restaurant” offering “a wide range of fresh food served with a friendly smile”. However, the cafe went into liquidation with FRP Advisory Trading Limited appointed as liquidator. This happened on June 11, 2026.
Foodfillas offers traditional home-cooked food and “Food your Mum would make for the price your Grandma would pay!” It was a family company operating with the slogan:
The cafe offered customers a variety of breakfasts, light lunches, cakes and hot and cold drinks; There was also the option to sit down and get food and drinks.
The venue was popular with locals, with one telling the Clydebank Post: “It’s really nice and clean. The food is lovely and the staff are great.”
Another added: “Wheelchair accessible, can’t fault this place. Oh and it’s not expensive either.”
Offering plenty of options for vegans and those needing a gluten-free diet, the venue was also accommodating when it came to food options. Gluten-free items even included ice cream; some of these were also suitable for dogs.
One visitor told TripAdvisor: “Table service was fast and friendly, and prices were reasonable. Most importantly, we both enjoyed our lunch.”
For those visiting for heartier meals, Foodfillas also offered customers Sunday roasts from £8.95.
Locals lamented the loss on social media, as one Facebook user wrote: “Just found out it’s closing, loved how the staff were always friendly and the food was great too”.
Before the collapse into liquidation was announced, another said: “Can’t fault this place, excellent breakfast rolls. Located inside the iconic Clydebank Co-op Shopping Centre. Ideally located next to the train and bus station. Don’t forget to check out the sweet treats!”
Others expressed their thoughts to the staff, with whom they empathized, adding that it was a “nice place to eat” and their “go-to” place.
