Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro blasted former Vice President Kamala Harris in an interview published Wednesday, claiming that what the Democratic presidential candidate wrote about him in her book was “complete bullshit.”
during a Interview with the AtlanticTim Alberta’s Shapiro denied what Harris claimed in her book “107 Days,” which included discussions of Shapiro and others she considered as her running mate. Harris said Shapiro asked his staff many questions, including “how he could arrange to borrow works by Pennsylvania artists from the Smithsonian.” He also accused her of wanting to be involved in every decision and said he reminded her that “the vice president is not a co-chairman.”
In response to his statement in his book, Shapiro said, “He wrote this in his book? This is complete bullshit—-” “I can tell you his accounts are blatant lies.”
“I asked a lot of questions,” Shapiro told Alberta. “Wouldn’t you ask questions if someone talked to you about partnering and working together?”

Alberta said he found that both Shapiro’s and Harris’ staff members described the meeting similarly. He asked Shapiro if he felt betrayed by Harris.
“So he’s trying to sell books and protect her,” he said before backing off. “I shouldn’t say, ‘Cover her…’ I don’t think that’s appropriate.”
“He’s trying to sell books. Period,” he concluded.
Harris also had reservations about former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, which she details in the book.

Harris wrote in the book that Buttigieg, who is gay, “would be an ideal partner if I were a straight white man.” “But we were already asking so much of America: to accept a woman, a Black woman, a Black woman married to a Jewish man. Part of me wanted to say, ‘Forget it, let’s do this.’ But it was too big a risk because we knew what was at stake.”
The former vice president finally listened to Minnesota Governor Tim Walz; Walz has faced negative headlines for the campaign due to past misleading statements about his military record.

Harris’ office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
In a September interview, Shapiro argued that the former vice president should answer for why he did not express any concerns about former President Joe Biden’s health while he was in office.
Shapiro said he was “extremely vocal” about it Biden’s re-election status and argued that Biden’s team did not fully inform him of his diminishing chances of victory.

“I would say that I’m trying to talk to them about it candidly and in a constructive way,” Shapiro said. “I believe in talking directly to individuals rather than going around talking to the media.” he said. “I don’t mean this to be disrespectful, but I think you have to be blunt in that moment, and I was.”
