Permanent yoga centres to be set up in A.P.’s Swarna Grama and Ward Secretariats: CM Naidu

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday, June 21, 2026, asserted that transformation of Andhra Pradesh into a healthy, wealthy and happy State is possible through the practice of spirituality and yoga.

Participating in the celebratory events in Vijayawada, Mr. Naidu expressed his resolve to build permanent yoga centers in Swarna Grama and District Secretariats, appoint district and mandal level officials to oversee yoga programmes, and constitute an expert committee to formulate standard yoga protocols.

The CM led the State-level celebrations along with yoga guru Baba Ramdev at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation stadium in the early hours of Sunday, June 21, 2026.
He also announced that the government will organize the next International Yoga Day celebration event in Tirupati in 2027.
Mr. Naidu said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has brought global recognition to yoga and positioned India as a rising power on the international stage and the public should thank him for that.

He said that India is a ‘Vishwa Guru’ for its potential to guide the world in various fields and that yoga improves physical and mental fitness and praised Baba Ramdev for bringing yoga closer to the masses.
The CM said that the future lies in the combination of technology and spirituality and appealed to the people to strive to make AP ‘Spiritual Andhra Pradesh’.
He noted that AP broke a world record by organizing Yoga Andhra-2025 in Visakhapatnam in the presence of Mr. Modi. He added that the state government is committed to ensuring yoga reaches every home, thus improving public health.
Mr. Naidu said the government is promoting natural farming on a large scale so that people have a chance to consume chemical-free food and integrate yoga in the Sanjeevani project.
