Petrol and diesel prices hike LIVE: Government hikes price by ₹3 per litre as crude costs bite
PM Modi did not allow any harm to come to us: Dilip Ghosh defends ₹3 fuel hike amid West Asian crisis
West Bengal Minister Dilip Ghosh on Friday (May 15) defended the Centre’s decision to increase petrol and diesel prices, saying global conflict and ongoing energy crisis are affecting fuel rates across the world, asserting that the Narendra Modi-led government is protecting citizens from major economic shocks.
Speaking about the increase in fuel prices, Mr. Ghosh said that despite the difficult global conditions, the increase has been kept at a minimum level. “There has been a war going on in the world for the last 3 years. Various crises have emerged in other countries as a result. Prime Minister Modi did not allow any harm to come to us.
Only the price of gasoline has increased. At least the price has been brought to a minimum level,” Mr. Ghosh told reporters.
