Photo of Andrew after arrest hung in the Louvre art gallery | World | News

Activists hung a framed photograph of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor in the Louvre art gallery in Paris in what they described as an act of political protest following his arrest earlier this week. In the video, the former prince can be seen collapsing in the back of a car after leaving the police station. He was detained on Thursday for alleged misconduct in public office. The photo was taken by Reuters photographer Phil Noble.

The framed painting was hung on a wall inside the museum on Sunday by the UK-based activist group Everybody Hates Elon, along with the caption “He’s Sweating Now.” The group shared footage of the show on social media, showing visitors looking at the photo and taking photos. According to activists, Louvre staff removed the image after about 15 minutes.

In a statement, the group said the action was intended as a form of political commentary and called for accountability over allegations linked to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein.

They posted a video showing them hanging Andrew’s photo on Instagram, with the caption: “‘Hang it in the Louvre,’ they say. That’s what we did.”

“We thought we would show the former Prince Andrew how the world will remember him by hanging this iconic arrest photo in the Louvre,” they told Reuters.

“I hope this is just the beginning. Justice for all Epstein survivors.”

Everybody Hates Elon describes its mission as targeting rich and powerful figures through public interventions and has previously staged similar demonstrations, including posters targeting Elon Musk.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has denied any wrongdoing regarding Epstein and said he regretted their relationship. He was arrested and questioned before being released after being detained for approximately 11 hours. An investigation is ongoing.

Thames Valley Police have confirmed the arrest of a 66-year-old man following allegations against Andrew following the release of millions of pages of files on Epstein.

The Louvre has not commented publicly on the incident, which is part of a growing trend of protest actions at major museums in Europe.
