A US-based photographer has revealed what Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are really like behind the scenes after photographing them last year. Phillip Van Nostrand, who lives in New York, explained on his social media account that meeting the couple in October was one of the “coolest things” he did last year.

The photographer said he was at the Healthy Minds Project gala where he photographed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Now he’s shared exactly what they look like behind the scenes.

“One of the coolest things we did last year was photographing Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at the @projecthealthyminds gala in October (they are both beautiful, I promise!),” she wrote on her Instagram.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who have been living in California since 2020, attended the gala in October and were awarded the Humanitarians of the Year award.

The award recognized the couple’s work to make the digital world safer for young people and their families through the Archewell Foundation.

Social media and preventing its harms is thought to be a very important issue for the duke and duchess.

Speaking at the event, Harry told the audience: “Tonight, we are all here to focus on what remains one of the most pressing issues of our time…”

She continued: “Let me share a number with you: 4,000. That’s how many families the Social Media Victims Law Center currently represents—families whose children have been harmed or lost forever because of social media.

“Four thousand cases in a single company. And this number only represents parents who can attribute their child’s condition to social media use.”

They were not accompanied by their young children, Prince Archie (6) and Princess Lilibet (4), at the event.
