BJP must win THESE 50 seats to stay in power

The BJP needs to win at least these 50 seats to retain power in Bihar 2025. Facing opposition to the mandate, the party relies on social engineering and key strongholds.

From Patna Sahib to Purnea, Raxaul to Rosera, the BJP needs to win at least 50 seats if it has to come back to power in the 2025 Bihar Election. While most exit polls predict a comfortable majority for the ruling coalition, the saffron party needs to win at least the seats it won in the 2020 Bihar Election. Due to the changing political landscape and increasing anti-incumbency sentiment, the saffron party has focused on retaining these seats. He switched candidates in more than 30 seats, including many ministers, to overcome the wave of opposition to the mandate. However, opponents say that many ministers may lose the elections. BJP focused on these seats.
Bihar Assembly Election 2025
Apart from allocating more tickets to the upper class, the BJP has also tried social engineering by penalizing communities on the margins rather than in the corridors of power. He gave more tickets to EBC and OBC. The saffron party, which did not field even a single Muslim candidate, did not raise the Hindutva issue so that its partner JD(U) would not be upset. Therefore, garrulous minister Giriraj Singh, known for his anti-Muslim tirades, was not given much importance this time.

Bihar Election: BJP should win these seats
The saffron party needs to win seats in places like Arrah, Begusarai, Benipatti, Bettiah, Bihar Sharif, Bisfi, Darbhanga, Forbesgunj, Gaya, Gopalgunj, Hajipur, Hayaghat, Jale, Jhanhjarpur, Kahagaon, Keoti and Katihar. Moreover, the BJP has worked overtime to attract voters in constituencies like Munger, Narkatiyagunj, Patna Sahib, Pirpainti, Purnea, Ranigunj, Wasaligunj, Teghara and many other seats. There are seats where the saffron party narrowly lost and came second. There was also focus on these seats.
Samrat Chaudhary from Tarapur
The BJP fielded candidates for 101 seats in the 243-member assembly. There are certain seats whose candidates must be in a vulnerable position. One such big seat is Tarapur, where Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhar is contesting the elections. His father, Shakuni Chaudhary, was elected MP from Munger six times. Samrat, who started his political career in RJD, later became Nitish Kumar’s sworn enemy. He promised that he would not remove his headgear until he unseats the Bihar chief minister. Rumor has it that Nitish will be happy to see the deputy chief minister clear the dust. However, the saffron party emphasized on the seat.

Vijay Kumar Sinha from Lakhisarai seat
The BJP has also made winning the Lakhisarai seat a matter of prestige. Three-time MLA and Bhumihar leader Vijay Kumar Sinha is the candidate from this seat. The Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar needs to be in a vulnerable position. After facing protests from alleged RJD supporters, the desperate BJP candidate declared: “NDA government is coming to power again in Bihar. We will bulldoze their chests.” He may choose not to carry out the threat, but the BJP will try its best to win this seat no matter what.
Bihar political analysis
Changes in political dynamics and ground realities of electoral politics manifested themselves in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, where the BJP failed to win a majority on its own. It won only 240 seats; this was 32 points short of the half-point mark in the 543-member parliament to form a government. The saffron party actually formed the government with the help of its allies. Bihar, considered the most politically conscious state, will go to polls for the first time since the Lok Sabha election. The BJP is aware of the challenges and hence will focus on the seats it won in the previous elections. The saffron party needs to win at least these and other sensitive seats.
