Pilot’s chilling call after man allegedly ‘bites’ passenger mid-flight | US | News

As the American Airlines plane approached Philadelphia, the passenger suddenly became uncontrollable, “trying to fight everyone.”

In the audio of the pilot’s conversation, he is seen saying: “I don’t know if he’s hallucinating or something else, but he just bit a passenger and is trying to fight with everyone.”

He then asked the controller, “what a day it was, huh?” in an audio recording obtained by CBS News. Before saying this, he made a request to emergency medical teams and law enforcement.

The controller wished him a happy Father’s Day, and he replied: “I’ll be sure to tell my daughters about it.”

American Airlines stated that the passenger had a medical problem and was assisted by a medical professional on the plane before landing.

The flight took off from Charlotte, North Carolina, early that morning and touched down just before 10 a.m. ET, according to tracking site FlightAware.

This incident follows a number of other incidents of disruption to flights recently.

On a Frontier Airlines flight, a man allegedly tried to open the emergency exit door mid-flight and had to be restrained by passengers and crew.

The plane, bound for Guatemala City, was flying at an altitude of 36,000 feet at the time of the incident.

Meanwhile, a Lufthansa flight had to make an emergency landing as a result of a female passenger attacking another person on the plane.
