Playboi Carti charged with assault after limo altercation in Utah; adds to his history of legal issues

According to the police report, the incident occurred on October 2, when Carti and his entourage were being driven from the Waldorf Astoria Park City. The limo driver, identified in reports as Carl Reynolds, told deputies that he intervened after seeing Carti arguing with his girlfriend.
Reynolds said he was struck during the dispute and towed the vehicle to a safer location near Heber City, where deputies later noted visible injuries. Reynolds also said another driver who worked for the same limo company also witnessed the interaction.
Wasatch County deputies later arrived at the scene and documented Reynolds’ injuries. Representatives for Playboi Carti and the Park City Police Department did not immediately respond.
The latest arrest adds to a string of previous run-ins the rapper has had with law enforcement.
He was charged with domestic battery in 2017, and two years later, in 2019, he was fined $900 after reportedly assaulting his tour bus driver in Scotland, according to multiple media reports. Carti was arrested in Georgia in 2020 after police found drugs and firearms inside his Lamborghini. According to authorities, he was carrying sacks of marijuana, three guns, as well as Xanax, codeine and oxycodone. He was released on bail the next day. Then in late 2022, Carti was taken into custody again, this time on aggravated assault charges, for allegedly strangling his pregnant girlfriend during a dispute over a paternity test.
