Plumber Held For Murder, Body Found Under Kitchen Platform

Special teams affiliated with the Nedmet police solved the murder investigation with the arrest of the plumber who allegedly killed his colleague five months ago and hid his body under the kitchen platform.

According to Malkajgiri DCP Ch. The accused Gavvala Mallesh Sridhar, a native of Siddipet district, allegedly killed bricklayer Kanchi Venkat Ramulu on December 15 last year. The two had met at a workers’ adda in HB Colony and had drinks together after failing to find work.

During the drinking session, Venkat allegedly insulted Mallesh, which led to an argument and the accused hit the victim on the head with a stick, causing instant death. Mallesh then tied Venkat’s hands, legs and neck with a rope, hid the body under the kitchen platform and built a brick structure to cover it before escaping.

The crime came to light on March 4, when the landlord, who had not been able to contact Mallesh since December, opened the premises after noticing a foul odor. The police came to the scene with CLUES teams and removed the skeletal remains.

Sridhar said the investigation was challenging as the victim had little contact with her family and no missing complaint had been lodged. Based on human intelligence and technical analysis, Mallesh was traced and arrested at JBS in Secunderabad.

Driver with fake license plate fined

Saidabad police on Saturday fined a driver for using a fake number plate of another vehicle, which was pending registration with transport authorities. The accused, Syed Hussain Mehdi, a resident of Chanchalguda, was caught while riding his bike in Saidabad.

Verification revealed that he had affixed a fake number plate on the two-wheeler he purchased in 2019 and had deliberately evaded registration since then. “Mahdi is misleading enforcement officials to avoid traffic challenges,” said D. Joel Davis, joint traffic commissioner.

Officials said Mehdi’s fake number plates were linked to various traffic and Motor Vehicles Act violations and pending challenges were falsely raised against its legal owner, Md Ibrahim of AmannNagar in Talabkatta. It was stated that the violator used a fake plate number TS11EK0593 on his bicycle, and the vehicle with the same plate belonged to İbrahim. The case has been handed over to Saidabad police department for further investigation.

Biryani leg piece dispute turns into violence at hotel

An argument over missing leg pieces in a jumbo chicken biryani packet turned violent at Hotel Victoria in Bharat Nagar on Friday night, leaving a customer injured.

According to Sanathnagar police, the customer initially purchased four single packs after being told that the jumbo pack was not available. He returned later that night, claiming that the biryani did not contain leg parts and demanded the owner provide them. When informed that the hotel was closing, the customer, along with three employees, allegedly damaged the property by throwing couches and kicking in doors in the air-conditioned dining area.

Police said that an argument broke out between the hotel staff and the group, during which the customer received bleeding wounds after being beaten with sticks.

During investigation, P. Arun of Bharat Nagar filed a counter complaint stating that he had sent his friend Dileep to buy biryani but could not find chicken pieces in the packet. Arun, along with Dileep, Rakesh and Shiva, went to the hotel to question Mohsin, the owner of the hotel.

He claimed the owner and his staff verbally abused them and hit him in the head with a large spoon, causing serious injuries. Arun was shifted to Omni Hospital in Kukatpally, where doctors gave him eight stitches. He also claimed that the motorcycles they parked outside were damaged in the fight.

Police confirmed that they received complaints from both Arun and Mohsin. Cases were registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and further investigations were initiated.

The person who killed his mother-in-law was arrested

CCTV footage played a crucial role in the arrest and judicial remand of a man who killed his mother-in-law by smashing her head with a helmet as she drove towards a deserted spot in Chengicherla. The defendant initially attempted to mislead police and family members by claiming he was having a seizure.

A special team, including IT personnel of Medipally police, arrested 24-year-old Karu Snehit on Saturday and sent her to Cherlapally jail.

According to the police, the incident occurred after an argument between Snehit and her mother-in-law K. Aruna on the evening of April 29. Snehit filed a complaint against his wife Kavya at her residence in RTC Colony in Chengicherla. Aruna cross-checked with Kavya and her sister who accused Snehit of rude behavior. Angered that Aruna did not believe him, Snehit harassed her on the phone that night.

The next day, Snehit returned to Aruna’s house, forced her onto his bike and rode towards Chengicherla. CCTV cameras recorded him hitting his head with a helmet while on the road. Medipally police station officer Ch. He says Aruna fell off bike. Shankaraiah.

Snehit, a private employee who married Kavya nine months ago, was arrested under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for culpable homicide and misleading investigators. His bike and helmet were confiscated.
