CCTV shows alleged thieves steal perfume bottles from Subi Blooms art installation

A Subiaco jewelery store owner is appealing for the public to help identify two suspected thieves who allegedly stole several perfume bottles that were part of the Subi Blooms set-up.
In a post on Facebook on Tuesday, Ecali Fine Jewelery shared the CCTV footage taken in front of the store entrance at around 02:00 in the morning on May 11.
In the video, two people wearing bicycle helmets are seen tampering with the installation created by a local florist in front of the jewelry store as part of the Subi Blooms festival.
According to Kerryn Hasler, owner of Ecali Fine Jewelery, two men stole 15 recycled perfume bottles used as flower vases for the vanity-style display before pedaling away on their bikes.
“It’s really frustrating,” Ms. Hasler said.
“It’s not really about perfume bottles, it’s about people feeling entitled to buy something they don’t need.”
“This was something for the whole community to enjoy, and these people came in and spoiled it for everyone,” Ms. Hasler said.
“Subi Blooms is a very positive Mother’s Day event, so it’s sad that these people have to put a negative spin on it.”
It follows another bizarre theft last month when two men were allegedly caught on CCTV stealing an old wrought-iron bench from an office park in Nedlands.
Police are investigating the Subiaco matter and are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers online at: www.crimestopperswa.com.au or by calling 1800 333 000.
