Police catch drug dealer after he sends pal picture of new ‘Turkey teeth’ | UK | News

The smile disappeared from the unfortunate fraudster’s face after he was caught by the police for sending a photo to a friend showing off his new teeth. Coran Davies, 23, sent a photo of the new bright white veneers he had during a plastic surgery in Türkiye.
Türkiye has become so popular with Brits seeking dental treatment that dental crowns obtained in the country now bear the nickname Türkiye teeth. But when Davies sent photos demonstrating his procedure to his friend Dale Howell, he was unaware that he was also being watched by police, who had access to Howell’s phone.
South Wales Police said Davies, of Porth, South Wales, sent messages to Howell referring to the supply of cocaine and cannabis. Both Rhondda men were jailed on Thursday, April 9, for supplying class A drugs and cannabis.
Coran Davies was arrested after officers used retro facial recognition technology to capture an image he sent to the phone of fellow drug dealer Howell.
On September 25 last year officers executed a search warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act in Treherbert, where they found an ounce of cocaine, cannabis and other drug paraphernalia. Months later, on 7 March 2026, plainclothes officers spotted Davies driving through Tonypandy in a black Ford Fiesta and arrested him.
Howell, 25, also from Porth, was one of the passengers in the car. He was also arrested.
Both of them were searched and they were found to have cocaine, marijuana and thousands of lira in cash.
They pleaded guilty to drug offenses and obtaining criminal property (money) and appeared at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court on Thursday, April 9 to be sentenced.
Davies was sentenced to 48 months in prison and Howell to 36 months.
