Police Crack Marredpally Murder
Marredpally police solved a murder case reported from Sanjeevaiahnagar in East Marredpally within 24 hours and arrested four accused, including the prime suspect, who stabbed his childhood friend to death following an argument over his sister. Police identified the prime accused as 22-year-old Sai Nikhil, a BTech dropout and unemployed youth. The other accused were Anand (20), Sainath (21) and Ramesh (22), who allegedly helped him after the crime.
According to the police, the deceased and the accused were neighbors and childhood friends. The trouble started when the deceased, who knew the accused’s family, repeatedly addressed Sai Nikhil’s sister by her name instead of sister out of respect. Nikhil had warned him against this earlier. During a family gathering at his home on Sunday night, the deceased allegedly repeated the same behavior, leading to an argument. Police said Nikhil entered, took a knife and stabbed the victim seven times. Allegedly, while his friends helped him escape, he also fled the scene.
Following the murder, Marredpally police launched a rapid investigation by analyzing CCTV footage, collecting technical evidence, examining witnesses and using scientific methods. All four defendants were identified, tracked and arrested within 24 hours.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Malkajgiri DCP CH Sridhar, additionally DCP K. Ram Kumar, ACP Begumpet P. Gopala Krishna Murthy, ACP Gopalapuram P. Subbaiah and led by SHO Marredpally Nomula Venkatesh along with his team.
Woman arrested for housebreaking and stealing jewelery worth ₹15 lakh
Police detained a woman who allegedly broke into her neighbor’s house and stole gold and silver jewelry. The loot valued at ₹ 15 lakh was recovered from the accused Kapari Narsamma. Rajendernagar ACP A. Sudhakar said Narasamma broke into N. Giri Babu’s house in Bandlaguda on May 30 when her family was away.
Narsamma allegedly escaped with 91 grams of gold ornaments and 100 tolas of silver ornaments. “During investigation, we found that Babu’s neighbour, who accused Narsamma, committed the theft due to previous disputes with his family members,” the ACP said.
During the protracted interrogation, Narsamma reportedly revealed that due to her previous enmity with the complainant, she took advantage of their absence and broke the locks of the house and the Almirah and committed theft.
“According to his confession, our teams recovered the stolen goods consisting of 91 grams of gold ornaments and 100 tolas of silver ornaments, along with an iron pipe and sickle, which were allegedly used to break the locks,” the ACP said. he said.

Father and 6-Year-Old Son Drown While Fishing in Taliperu River
A man who went fishing at Dandupet in Cherla mandal of Bhadradri-Kothagudem district drowned in Taliperu river along with his six-year-old son, police said on Tuesday. Police identified the deceased as Ramula Surya Rao and his son Dev Harsha Bhargav, natives of Mogalapally in Cherla mandal.
According to police, Surya Rao entered a deeper part of the river along with his son, apparently lost his balance and drowned. Witnesses at the scene notified Cherla police, who arrived at the scene along with emergency personnel. It was too late for the victims. The police later recovered the bodies of the victims with the help of fishermen and sent them to the government hospital morgue for autopsy.
