Sushila Karki assumes charge as Nepal’s Interim Prime Minister, cabinet expansion likely today

Nepal’s 73 -year -old former chief justice swore as a temporary prime minister after a widespread gene protest due to the frustration of political recession, corruption and economic inequality triggered by the prohibition of social media platforms in the country.

Former Chief Justice Sushila Carki served as Nepal’s temporary prime minister and became the first female prime minister of his country. From the field of medicine, Dr. Important figures such as Bhagawan Koirala, Dr. Sanduk Ruit, Dr Jagadish Agrawal and Dr Pukar Chandra Shrestha are also taken into consideration.

On Friday, the Nepal Parliament was officially terminated and new elections were planned on March 5, 2026 hours after the former Carki’s oath of the country’s new temporary PM.

The presidential office announced the decision, at the first cabinet meeting that convened at 23:00 at 23:00 (local time), he said he pointed to the beginning of a six -month transition government in charge of directing the country to the polls.
