Police Nab Four Bike-Lifters, Recover 10 Vehicles

Hyderabad: Hyderabad CCS, along with Gandhinagar police, arrested four persons, including minors, for their involvement in a series of two-wheeler thefts in the city. 10 stolen vehicles were seized.

The accused were identified as Muhammad Riyaz, Syed Ahmed Ali, Muhammad Fardeen and MM Pahadi, all 18 years old, and a 17-year-old boy living in the surrounding areas. Police said they targeted two-wheelers parked in different areas.

Based on reliable information, the Special Crime Squad tracked their movements, including their activities on Instagram, and arrested them at MM Pahadi in Attapur. During interrogation, they confessed to committing 10 thefts in Balanagar, Gandhi Nagar, Kollur and Attapur police limits.

The recovered vehicles include eight scooters and two motorcycles. Police said the suspect sold or used the vehicles for personal purposes. Further investigation is ongoing to identify additional crimes.

Traffic police kept a record of 383 license plate violations

Hyderabad:Siberabad traffic police have intensified checks against vehicles without number plates or with defective registration screens and 383 cases were detected during a special drive beyond Traffic-II limits on Thursday. A total fine of Rs 80,600 was collected.

The drive ordered by senior officers covered Patancheru bus stand, Kukatpally areas including BHEL Road at RC Puram, Miyapur junction, JNTU Junction at KPHB, Khaithlapur Road and IDL Lake Road, as well as Balanagar Metro Railway station, Jeedimetla, Suraram and Medchal areas.

Police teams carried out strict checks to detect vehicles without license plates or driving with irregular displays; these breaches are considered serious under the Motor Vehicle Rules due to their connection with traffic offenses and criminal anonymity. Officials said such violations prevent the detection of vehicles involved in accidents or crimes, making enforcement vital for public safety.

Gram Sahayak died of electric shock

Udupi: A 54-year-old gram sahak died of electrocution while picking mangoes near the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Udupi on Friday morning.

Police identified the deceased as Sadananda, who worked in the DC office. The incident took place around 9.15 am when he climbed the mango tree at the back using an iron hook. It was reported that the hook touched the high voltage line on the tree, causing a serious shock. He fell on the branches due to the impact.

Sadananda was taken to the Government Hospital in Ajjarkad but succumbed to his injuries at 10.53 am.

A case of unnatural death was registered at Manipal police station.

Man arrested for theft

Hyderabad:Miyapur police on Friday arrested a man for alleged theft and recovered stolen goods worth Rs 3.5 lakh, including gold and silver jewelery and a motorcycle. Police said the accused Vallepu Venkatesh in Nellore district has a history of 45 property-related offenses in several police stations, including Madhapur, KPHB, Kukatpally and Balanagar.

Police said Vallepu Venkatesh of Nellore district was caught acting suspiciously in Mayurinagar with the intention of committing theft. He confessed his involvement in at least four cases of theft registered in Miyapur and Gachibowli police station limits.

He had been placed under judicial custody in many cases before. Police said they targeted locked houses and guard rooms, observing residents’ movements before striking when no one was in the buildings.

Based on his confession, the police seized 4 grams of gold ornaments, over 600 grams of silverware and a two-wheeler. Further investigation is ongoing.
