10 Years Prison Sentence for 4 People for Selling Drugs
Hyderabad:Sangareddy First Class Additional Sessions Court Judge Jayanthi on Friday convicted four people and sentenced them to 10 years imprisonment and imposed a penalty of Rs 1 lakh each for possession of marijuana.
In February 2021, Rathod Mohan, Rathod Venkat, Ketavath Pandu Nayak and Rathod Mothiram were arrested by Zaheerabad Excise Department officials for carrying 102 kg of marijuana. Sangareddy enforcement inspector Ramesh Reddy seized the marijuana.
Sajjanar set up CIT to monitor important cases
Hyderabad: Hyderabad police commissioner VC Sajjanar on Friday announced the formation of a central investigation team (CIT) to supervise and monitor important cases. He explained that the aim of the police is not only to arrest criminals, but also to ensure that they receive the harshest punishment in court.
The commissioner was addressing officials at the monthly crime review meeting for October. He received information about the records of the cases and the progress of the investigations. In particular, Sajjanar delved into details regarding the increasing number of cases and old cases that ended in acquittal.
Sajjanar stated that the police should immediately respond to every complaint received at the police station and register an FIR (first information report). Suppression of complaints or minimizing the seriousness of crime will not be tolerated, he warned. He warned that police officers who act negligently in their duties will be suspended from duty.
