Police announced in February that they had identified a suspect believed to be known to Gus. The suspect is not one of Gus’ parents.

The case turned into a major crime.

Detective Superintendent Darren Fielke said there were “inconsistencies” and “inconsistencies” in the information provided by some of the boy’s family members at the time of the announcement.

“As a result of these discrepancies and related investigations, a resident of Oak Park Station has withdrawn his support of the police and is no longer cooperating with us,” Inspector Fielke said.

He said authorities would return to the property. They returned to search the property on Wednesday.

Investigators fear Gus is no longer alive.

One hypothesis focused on the possibility that Gus had wandered away from Oak Park Station and lost his bearings, but this was ruled out.

Another investigation focuses on whether Gus was kidnapped from the property by a stranger.

The third investigation is whether someone he knew played a role in his disappearance and death.

Authorities said the investigation is focusing on people who knew Gus and may be connected to his disappearance and suspicious death.
