Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood has warned that taxpayers will have to pay more for low-skilled foreign nationals because they make up a large proportion of the group moving to the UK.
New figures published by the Office for National Statistics have raised fears that talented young Britons will leave the country due to high taxes and deteriorating living conditions.
Around 246,000 Britons left the UK last year, while 627,000 migrants came from non-EU countries. Among those leaving the cohort were 126,000 people aged 16-34.
