Politics LIVE: Nightmare for Keir Starmer as Labour MPs to launch ‘plot to oust him’ | Politics | News

The Green Party has been “taken over” by people expelled from Labor over antisemitism, a cabinet minister has claimed.
Asked whether he was concerned about polls suggesting British Muslims were more likely to base their local election votes on conflict in the Middle East, Communities Minister Steve Reed told Times Radio: “That concerns me.
“People need to decide how they want to cast their vote, of course it’s not my place to tell them what they should and shouldn’t do.
“But we must focus our elections on what is happening at home.
“Most people I speak to in these local elections tell me they will vote based on council tax levels, local utilities and things like potholes on the road.
“Now I’ve seen the Green Party taken over by a lot of far-left people who were kicked out of the Labor Party for antisemitism, and they’re certainly trying to promote foreign issues, including what’s going on in Israel, Palestine and Gaza, rather than focusing on domestic issues on the ground.”
