It is understood that Prince Harry will not be with his wife Meghan Markle and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, when he lands in London next week. Plans for the Duke of Sussex to bring his entire family back to the capital for the first time in four years have been canceled after he was denied police protection while in the country. It follows reports earlier this week that the duke was still trying to find a way to bring his wife and children safely to the UK, amid concerns for their safety and confusion over where they would be staying.
While it is understood that Harry will fly to London alone on Monday to begin his tour of the country, no decision has been made as to whether the Sussex family will join him in other parts of England. Apart from London, the Duke will also visit Birmingham, where the Invictus Games will be held next year.
The Duchess was scheduled to join him at an engagement in Birmingham, but reports suggest the attendance could still go ahead.
Harry is set to fly solo to London on Monday and it is still unknown whether he has accepted his father, the King,’s invitation to stay at the royal residence.
It’s unclear whether this means Harry and his family will travel to another royal residence outside London and meet the King.
Prince Harry’s family has not set foot in the country since 2022, when Queen Elizabeth returns to the UK for her Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
The Duke was awaiting a review by the Risk Management Board (RMB), which is part of the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royal and Public Personalities (Ravec) decision-making process on security requirements, but learned last Friday that this had not yet happened.
