Knicks guard Josh Hart says Philly not a sports town after sweep

New York Knicks guard Josh Hart had the final say after the team defeated the Philadelphia 76ers in the second round of the NBA Playoffs on Sunday night.
Miles McBride led the team with 25 points as the Knicks defeated the 76ers 144-114. Jalen Brunson added 6 assists and 4 rebounds. Karl-Anthony Towns played with 17 points, 10 assists and 4 rebounds.

Hart contributed with 17 points and 9 rebounds. The Villanova graduate had harsh words for the Philadelphia sports community after the game.
“I used to think Philly was a sports town, I don’t know if it is anymore,” Hart said.
He’s had a tough time with Philadelphia teams lately. The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX. However, it has been difficult for all other teams to win trophies.

The Philadelphia Phillies last won a World Series in 2008 and recently fired their manager after a slow start to the 2026 season. The Philadelphia Flyers last won the Stanley Cup championship in 1975. The Flyers were eliminated in the second round of the 2026 playoffs.
The 76ers last won the NBA championship in 1983. The last time the team won the NBA Finals was in 2001 behind Allen Iverson. Since then, the team has failed to advance to the Eastern Conference semifinals.
Adding insult to injury, Knicks fans traveled to Philadelphia for Games 3 and 4 to watch their team take down the 76ers.

Philly fans will have to wait and see how the Phillies’ season progresses, but they’re likely waiting until September for the Eagles’ 2026 run to begin.
