“King Charles and Queen Camilla’s state visit is vital given the decline in Anglo-American relations,” royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said. Fox News Digital.
He added: “It is also about the two countries’ shared history of more than 250 years. It will highlight, as such events do, the mutual sacrifice in war, the enriching cultural ties and the special ties Britain has in common with the world’s most powerful nation.”
It is understood that the royal couple will not meet the King’s son, the Duke of Sussex, and his wife, Meghan Markle, during the trip. The couple, who are no longer working for the royal family, currently live in California and sources suggest neither Prince Harry nor Meghan will meet the monarch.

There have also been calls for the King and Queen to meet with survivors of sex offender Jeffrey Epstein during their visit.
However, it is understood that the King will not hold the meeting due to concerns that it could jeopardize ongoing legal processes and police investigations.
After leaving the United States, the King and Camilla will visit Bermuda, where he is also head of state. This will be his first royal visit to a British overseas territory as monarch before returning to the United Kingdom.
