This is believed to be despite Beatrice having the option of being with her father for Christmas or spending the day with the Royal Family at Sandringham.

A friend of the princess told The Sun: “Beatrice did not want to cause any embarrassment and was torn between her loyalty to the King and her family. So she and Eugenie headed to Buckingham Palace for a pre-Christmas family dinner.”

“He appreciates how the King and William looked after him during what happened to Andy and Sarah. He didn’t want it to seem like he was looking down on anyone so it would be easier to go with his friends.”
