Popular fast food chain collapses into administration | UK | News

A popular gourmet burger chain with branches across the UK has gone into administration, but there may still be hope for meat patty fans as its owner says business is continuing. Flavor Trailer, described as “the best burger van in Northampton, offering an unrivaled burger takeaway near you”, released a statement to local press in Northamptonshire within the past 24 hours.
The award-winning firm describes itself on the company’s social media and website as an independent burger company where “taste meets obsession” and offers private event and wedding hire options, as well as a number of locations across Northamptonshire. Firms use impressively sized burger trucks to treat customers to the taste sensation, but owner Mario Shephard told the Northampton Chronicle and Echo that a restaurant is now open.
In a statement to the newspaper “The Flavor Trailer Ltd has gone into administration”, but in a sign that all is not lost for fans of the firm’s cuisine, Mr Shephard added: “We want to make it absolutely clear that this is not the end of The Flavor Trailer.”
Express.co.uk has contacted the company for comment.
the statement continued: “The restaurant in Brixworth is now open and one of our trucks is currently visiting our main locations. These assets, including The Flavor Trailer brand, are being acquired by a new company called Black Fox Hospitality Ltd. [with Mario listed as a director] “He will continue to run the business until the official transfer is completed.”
Mr Shephard added that the past year had been “incredibly challenging for independent hospitality businesses across the UK”, with rising costs, PAYE increases and higher material costs working against a backdrop of “a decline in consumer confidence”, pushing many firms to “breaking point”.
Speaking of the entrepreneurial spirit that launched his business, Mr. Shephard recalled how he and his now-wife founded the “tent” company in 2018 and grew into a company operating “a restaurant operating six burger trucks seven days a week in the Midlands.”
Mr Shephard added that it was now a “scaling down” and thanked the “amazing Taste Fans who have supported us along the way” and that “we’re still here” and “we’re still cooking”.
He continued: “If there’s a silver lining, it’s that I can get back to what started this whole journey: creating the best burger. This new chapter truly feels like a rebirth, tighter, more focused and more personal, and the food coming out of the restaurant and the truck right now is the best we’ve ever made.”
In the Google rating system, the company has an impressive 4.3 out of 5 stars; “The burgers are out of this world,” one recent reviewer said, while another added: “I had the spicy veggie burger and it was the best I’ve ever had.”
