Potter dazzled, but Wallabies’ fizz went flat in final act
There was a Bank of England effort to put them 17-0 ahead but Potter pulled it off against all odds. somehow get your body under the ball. A minute later Potter deflected the high ball just outside the Australian line and Still He didn’t explain the reason for his big smile.

Just a few minutes later Potter intercepted a pass from England center Fraser Dingwall that once again led to England trying in the corner.
Our man Harry Potter in a show of pure magic (oh come on me) there was to put it) – collected at the intersection and raced 95 meters for an excellent Wallabies try to close at the other end to make it 10-7.
And Still Potter’s not done. With just seconds left in the half, five-eighth Tane Edmed put an end to the match with a strangely fierce strike from our goal line – but the ball was collected by the entire England forward team charging forward and hit Potter from a meter out.
Since the ball came out of the Wallabies’ direction, Potter must have taken the ball away spectacularly.
The question now was which Wallabies team would come out in the second half and whether they would be dangerous. Could we see the same toxic team that scored 38 points against the Springboks in the last forty minutes at Ellis Park? Unfortunately no.

Our players did their best but continued to lose in the aerial game.
On one such occasion, England’s rock star on the bench, the dashing blonde back row player Henry Pollock, was about to gather around the ball and run over it when the ball was swung.
Despite England taking a 15-7 lead, Australia were still involved and we saw some enterprising play from Wallabies backrower Fraser McReight making four tackles from England tackles.
Meanwhile, our Andrew Kellaway and Joseph Suaalii were constantly making threats. . . it’s just that when under pressure the ball always goes awry with little mistakes and always prevents goodies. Yes, every time Only When it seems like the Promised Land is near. . . declined.

England took advantage and it became clear that this time there would be no Miracle at Twickenham like last year.
Two more English tries were scored, under the weight of a forward pack immeasurably improved by the offloading of a very strong bench, leaving the final score at 27-7.
All in all it was a frustrating outing for the Wallabies. Our offense was mostly solid, our roster was very good, and the Empire was bolstered by the return of Nick Frost. There were many strong individual performances led by Potter and McReight, while Max Jorgensen had some great moments.
But overall we were disappointed by a certain lack of urgency to properly defend against box hits by placing gold spreads around the receiver and not applying enough pressure to the receivers in response. This, and a host of small errors that occurred just when we were most threatening, ruined the game.
It’s been a long year. The Wallabies have achieved so much. But this wasn’t one to put the champagne in a rugby bottle and say — this was the best of 2025. While it effervescent in some parts and was a promising bouquet at times, overall it was a bit flat.
