Power Street closed as smoke blankets Melbourne

A bus fire on the Southbank closed a street and sent acrid smoke across Melbourne.
Vision online shows flames spreading from the bus on Power Street near the CityLink on-ramp and a huge plume of smoke blowing eastwards over the city towards the Yarra.
As a result, Power Street was closed in all directions.
While Roselle Angel Guno was walking towards her home around 19.30, she saw that the bus was emitting smoke and firefighters were at the scene.
“About a minute later it exploded,” he said.
“I ran so fast that I got to the other side just in time. [of the road]. I just wanted to save myself.”
Guno said he saw the driver get off the bus and there was no one else on the bus.
More to come.
