The season opens in February with a new adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great GatsbyIn collaboration with Brisbane’s Shake & Mice Theater Company.
“Part of my job is to get young people into the theatre, so something moving into the British curriculum will hopefully ignite a new generation for live performance,” Evans said.

Also familiar to movie goers are Stephen Sondheim’s Fairy Tale Musical to the forestIt was made into a 2014 movie starring Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt and Chris Pine.
Queensland Theater is collaborating with Opera Queensland and the Queensland Symphony Orchestra to stage musicals at the new Glashouse Theatre.
“Brisbane is a musical theater town, people absolutely adore the form and there is so much musical talent in our backyard,” Evans said.

“This is the true story behind the creation of the AFL Women’s League and the players, mothers, fathers rallying to make sure women had their own league,” Evans said.
