Prince Andrew latest: Andrew ‘agrees to leave Royal Lodge on condition he gets new home’

The Liberal Democrats could use the final opposition day of the parliamentary session to scrutinize Prince Andrew.

A Liberal Democrat source said: “We need to explore all options, including an opposition day debate, to ensure Parliament can scrutinize this properly, from Prince Andrew’s residence in the Royal Lodge to his dukedom.

“The first thing we need is appropriate transparency and accountability, which is why we have called on the Crown Estate and Prince Andrew to give evidence under oath in Parliament.”

The Liberal Democrats have one opposition day left before the end of the parliamentary session, but no date has yet been set for this.

Prince Andrew has reportedly agreed to leave the Royal Lodge on the condition that he can move to Frogmore Cottage.

The prince is facing mounting pressure to leave the 30-bedroom mansion this week.

Accordingly SunAndrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, who also lives at Royal Lodge, have agreed to move if Andrew moves to Frogmore Cottage and Sarah moves to Adelaide Cottage, where the Prince and Princess of Wales will move next month.

A friend of the couple told the newspaper: “Andy wants to leave but these are his demands.

“He is realistic and knows the writing is on the wall and his time at Royal Lodge is up.

“If he had to go, he wanted Frogmore Cottage.

“Amazingly, Sarah said she wanted Adelaide Cottage.”

Virginia Giuffre’s lawyer, Sigrid McCawley, felt the Metropolitan Police should investigate Andrew over Giuffre’s allegations that she was kidnapped by Jeffrey Epstein and forced to have sex with him in London, New York and the Caribbean; Andrew has always denied these allegations.
