Prince Harry and Meghan tipped ‘over the edge’ after Christmas snub | Royal | News

While images of Harry, Meghan and Archie and video snippets of other family members were shown as the broadcast read, the couple were reportedly unhappy that their photos were not shown alongside other family portraits on Her Majesty’s desk.

In his first book, Finding Freedom, written with Carolyn Durand, Omid Scobie claimed that this made Harry and Meghan uncomfortable and left them feeling as if they had been “shunned by the institution for a long time and were not an essential part of its future.”

The book said: “There was no need to look further than the family photographs displayed during the Queen’s Christmas Day Speech.

“The audience in the Green Drawing Room at Buckingham Palace, where the Queen gave her speech, [Waleses] and a black-and-white picture of their children, Charles and Camilla, Prince Philip and George VI.

The writers continued: “Conspicuously absent was a photo of Harry, Meghan and their new baby Archie.

“Palace sources insisted the photos were chosen to represent the direct line of succession. But for Harry and Meghan, it was another sign that they needed to think their own way.”

Harry and Meghan’s children, Prince Archie, now six, and Princess Lilibet, four, are not believed to have spent Christmas Day with the Royal Family.
