King Charles may view Prince Harry as a “complete idiot” but will still love him despite the fallout from his son’s royal departure, a leading royal commentator has said. Jennie Bond said she would like to see the Duke of Sussex and his grandchildren Prince Archie and his grandchildren during the King’s visit to England. Princess Lilibet.
However, he argued that the situation had become complicated HarryCourt battle with the Government over his and his family’s safety. How much is it discussed? Charles will want to see Archie and Lilibet Mrs. Bond said: “And he probably wants to see his little boy too. I’ve long been of the view that the role of a parent is to be the bigger person in all this and to hold out your arms and say, ‘Look, you’re such an idiot but I still love you.'”
He added that it was “probably” the same for King Charles, adding: “But it became very difficult because everything got mixed up with this security issue and his own son trying to sue his own Government.

The former BBC royal correspondent told Sky News: “It’s become very difficult for the King, but I think he wants to see his son and of course he’s only met Lilibet once and Archie a few times, so I’m sure he’d love to do that as he gets older.”
Mrs Bond, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, seven-year-old Archie and five-year-old Lilibet, I will not agree with Harry when he visits London next week.
Harry had planned to join Meghan and her children on their five-day trip to celebrate the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games in Birmingham.

Harry was awaiting review by the Risk Management Board (RMB), which is part of the decision-making process on security requirements by the Executive Committee for the Protection of the Royal Family and Public Personalities (Ravec). Reports indicate that his request for police protection was rejected.
It’s unclear whether this means Harry and his family will travel to another royal residence outside London and meet the King. Ms Bond suggested the Sussexes could potentially meet the King at Balmoral, Sandringham or Highgrove.
While Archie and Lilibet are not expected to attend any public events, it was previously reported that Meghan was planned to join her husband on visits to Chelsea Royal Hospital in London and an Invictus event at the National Exhibition Center in Birmingham.
Reuters reported earlier today that “a visit elsewhere in the UK has not been ruled out.”
Ms Bond said the Midlands city was the most likely location for Meghan if she appeared in the UK, but said the Duchess would not be greeted with fanfare outside the Invictus Games events.
He added: “Meghan was always there [Harry’s] side of these games. He knows this is his man’s big moment and his big campaign, and he’s going to want to be there.

Harry faced a protracted legal battle with the Home Office over security arrangements for himself and his family. He was in the United Kingdom after his level of protection changed when he and Meghan resigned as royal family employees in 2020.
When Harry lost his Court of Appeal appeal against the Home Office last year, he told the BBC he hoped for a reconciliation with his family and revealed Charles would not speak to him because of the security case.
Ms Bond revealed that Harry had previously offered to pay for Scotland Yard protection while he was in London but this was refused.
Although Harry has private security, he said they cannot carry guns, suggesting that the Sussexes would be defenseless against an armed attacker in the UK.
Asked why Harry and his family could not enter the UK without public knowledge, Ms Bond said a “quiet visit” would be on the Sussexes’ minds.
He added: “That would be a much better way, of course.”
