Prince Harry is coming off a big week, and according to one royal commentator, he seems to have solved one problem and created another.

There was considerable speculation as to whether Harry’s wife and two children would accompany him to England, and they eventually managed to arrange this. The entire Sussex family met King Charles at Highgrove on Friday, and now that things have calmed down, it may be making Harry feel homesick.

From Berkshire to Buckingham Jane Barr suggests Harry now misses his old life.

“This must have been very emotional for Harry, who was desperate to return to his old life,” Barr wrote on his Substack.

“He grew up in Highgrove, after all. I’m sure this whole trip has made him angrier than ever,” he continued.

Harry’s visit was emotional

It was eventually confirmed that Meghan, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, would accompany the Duke to London, and although it was arranged at the eleventh hour, King Charles was available.

Barr examined what this experience was like for the monarch and how she handled such a sensitive situation.

“He invited them into his sanctum, but it’s also not a lavish palace or one of those super-exclusive private residences that carries a special mystique like Balmoral,” he said.

As for Harry and Charles, both seemed happy with the turn of events, but when it came to Meghan, Barr suggests a different story: The duchess may have been disappointed to lose some bragging rights.

“Meghan couldn’t be more cheerful about how wonderful it was to visit Balmoral this summer,” Barr wrote.

While Highgrove may lack the grandeur of Buckingham Palace, it is far from modest and offers significant advantages, not least privacy, which was always a major concern for Meghan.

“Highgrove is a private and secluded place, allowing Charles to meet the Sussexes without any paparazzi shots, and is as authentic as possible and also the home of a sitting monarch.

‘We can’t wait to return to your old life’

From the outside, the family element of the visit seems like a triumph, but it raises more questions than it answers; That’s exactly what makes royal watching so appealing.

It remains unclear where things will go next, but Harry is likely enjoying the moment and appreciating it as an opportunity for his children to spend quality time with their grandfather.

As for what’s coming next, Harry will appear on the Joe Marler Will See You Now podcast on Monday, July 13, where the Duke may drop some interesting hints about what’s going on at Highgrove and what the future may hold.
