Prince Harry gets UK trip back on track with hospital visit
In Birmingham on Thursday, the duke celebrated the efforts of the WellChild charity, which he has supported for many years and became patron of in 2007.
This year we’re celebrating the 20th anniversary of WellChild nurses, who help coordinate children’s care between home and hospital in a project Prince Harry helped fund.
During the duke’s visit he met Nicky Holt, one of more than 50 nurses funded by WellChild who work with children who need ventilation to help them breathe.
The Duke chatted to some of the young patients in the wards and also to some of their families.
Earlier on Thursday, an Invictus-branded train named Spirit of Invictus was unveiled at London’s Euston Station.
The train will run on the route to Birmingham, which will host games next year celebrating the achievements of injured men and women soldiers.
The row over security arrangements meant Prince Harry did not bring Meghan or their children Archie and Lilibet to events in London as originally planned.
However, Prince Harry’s team has not ruled out that Meghan and her children may arrive in the UK later in the week, and it is not yet known whether Meghan will attend events in Birmingham and the Midlands.
There was also speculation about whether Prince Harry and his wife and children would meet King Charles, but no plans for a meeting have been announced so far.
