Prince Harry will not be joined by Meghan and children on London trip

It is understood that Prince Harry will not be with his wife, the Duchess of Sussex, and their two children when he visits England next week.
Meghan, Archie and Lilibet will not travel to London as originally planned after it was confirmed the family would not be provided with taxpayer-funded police security.
It’s still possible they could join Prince Harry later in the week when the five-day trip moves to Birmingham to promote the Invictus Games.
It is unclear whether the meeting between King Charles and his two grandchildren, aged seven and five, whom he has not seen in person for four years, will take place under the revised schedule.
London was thought to be the most likely location for the family reunion after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex accepted an offer to stay at the royal residence. their two children.
The King has a number of public events planned for next week. Buckingham Palace does not comment on private family matters.
The change means Meghan will not join her husband on his visit to Chelsea Royal Infirmary on Wednesday for meetings related to the Invictus Games. Prince Harry will now attend alone.
It is understood that discussions regarding the security aspects of the later parts of the visit are continuing, but a final decision has not been made yet.
There were reports that later in the trip, Prince Harry would visit Althorp in Northampton, the family estate of his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales.
Prince Harry is understood to have plans to take his wife and children to his mother’s private grave.
The visit will move from London to Birmingham on Thursday, where Prince Harry will visit the children’s hospital in the city to support the work of the charity WellChild, which he has continued to support since moving to the US.
If Meghan arrives in the UK later in the week, she is scheduled to join her husband at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Center to mark the year-long countdown to the venue that will host the Invictus Games.
Sources close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said the decision to pull out of the London portion of the visit was due to concerns from Prince Harry’s personal security team, who reviewed the arrangements for several days.
Prince Harry has previously said he would not bring his family to the country until security arrangements are improved.
He told the BBC in 2025 that he “cannot see a world where I would bring my wife and children back to England at this point”.
The security challenge was related to the decisions of the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (Ravec), which decided to provide security for senior royals and other public figures.
Prince Harry and Meghan last met with Queen Elizabeth II in 2022. He was with Elizabeth in the United Kingdom at the time of her funeral.
She has since traveled to the country alone and met her father during a trip last September.
