Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s explosive response to new criticism about their relationship with the Royal Family risks further damaging the already fragile relationship, an expert has claimed. The backlash was sparked by Tom Bower’s bombshell claims in a new royal book; Including the claim that Queen Camilla once accused Meghan of “brainwashing” her now husband.
Responding to criticism is unlikely to help matters, given Harry’s recent attempts to build bridges with his family and the hope that the King will play a key role at next year’s Invictus Games, according to royal expert Ingrid Seward.
He said: “While I don’t think Camilla would care much, adding fuel to the fire isn’t going to help her relationship with her father, is it?”
To talk New! MagazineMs Seward added: “It’s either true or it’s too irrational to even bear thinking about. But either way, the royal family will remain silent and not get involved, while Harry will remain furious.”
He also added that Camilla and Harry never shared a strong bond. Ms Seward added: “I don’t think there is a relationship between Harry and Camilla at this point.
“Initially, Camilla tried to stay out of their lives, which was her way of being a good stepmother, and I think that was absolutely right. She knew they wouldn’t have much love for her because, in their opinion, their mother was so unhappy because of her.”
“This is language that speaks for itself, from someone who has openly stated that ‘the monarchy is actually committed to erasing the Sussexes from our state of living’.”
One of the most shocking allegations in Tom’s book ‘Bower’s Betrayal: Power, Deception and the Fight for the Future of the Royal Family’ is the claim that Camilla once called a friend “Meghan’s brainwashed Harry”. Tom adds that “the jolly lad in town is taken over by a quest for revenge.”
Harry revealed at Spare how he and William “begged” their father, King Charles, not to marry Camilla.
He also branded her “dangerous”, claiming she would leak sensitive information in a bid to improve his image, and claimed she had “sacrificed” him on the proverbial “altar of personal PR”.
