Prince of Wales pays visit to severely ill children from Gaza

A Kensington Palace spokesman said the Prince of Wales had visited a number of seriously ill children from Gaza who were being treated on the NHS.
The NHS began providing specialist care to Gaza children in September as part of the UK government’s humanitarian mission.
According to Ministry of Health and Social Care statistics, 50 children are receiving treatment as of November 21.
A Kensington Palace spokesman said Prince William was “impressed by the bravery shown by the children and their families.”
First evacuation of sick children and their families from Gaza It was reported in September.
The identities of those evacuated were not disclosed.
A government spokesman said: “The government worked with partners to carry out medical evacuations from Gaza to the UK in the autumn. Fifty patients and their immediate family members are now being cared for in a safe and welcoming environment.”
In October, the prince opened a global commemoration for humanitarian workers, where he delivered a speech on human values.
This royal visit signals Prince William’s intention to establish what he calls “more empathetic leadership around the world” when it comes to humanitarian issues.
Speaking in the last episode “Change is on my agenda, change for the better,” he told Eugene Levy, host of the documentary series The Reluctant Traveler.
“It’s not an overly radical change, but it’s a change that needs to happen,” he added.
Following his visit to Gaza children, a Palace spokesman said: “The Prince wanted to offer a moment of comfort to these young people who are going through experiences no child should ever have to go through.”
“The Prince was also able to express his sincere gratitude to NHS teams who provided exceptional care during such a difficult time.
“Her Royal Highness is impressed by the courage shown by the children and their families and the dedication of the team who support them with professionalism and humanity.”
Israel launched a military operation in Gaza after Hamas-led militants based in Palestinian territory attacked Israel on October 7, 2023, killing 1,200 people and kidnapping 251 people.
At least 70,100 people have been killed in Gaza since then, according to the region’s Hamas-run health ministry. A ceasefire was called on October 10.
