Prince William is doing what Meghan should have done all along – she could kick herself | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Prince William joined A-list stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Emma Watson at a business forum for the Royal Foundation’s United for Wildlife organization on Monday. The event was part of London Climate Action Week; here William discussed the global environmental initiative, which is offering five prizes worth £1 million to help scale innovative solutions to repair the planet.

The Prince of Wales said conservation work helped him “keep my environmental concerns at bay” and “helps me sleep at night” because it made him feel like “we can do this” and can reverse the horrors of climate change. The Earthshot Prize, which the Future King founded in 2020, is dedicated to reversing the negative impact of climate change on the environment.

He has managed to attract stars to his cause, from Hollywood actors Leonardo DiCaprio, Matthew McConaughey and Cate Blanchett to broadcaster and naturalist Sir David Attenborough and New Zealand’s former prime minister Jacinda Ardern.

There’s no denying that the former Suits actress also supports causes that are important to her. Her advocacy work on resilience and equality, along with that of her husband, Prince Harry, earned her the NAACP President’s Award as well as the Robert F. Kennedy Ripple of Hope Award. Meghan also continues to be an advocate for mental health and the rights of women and girls.

But what the royal family is doing completely differently from the Sussexes is aligning their philanthropic work with celebrities who are passionate about the same causes and delivering a solid outcome: saving the planet through ideas and future technology over the next decade.

Meghan, meanwhile, has continued to rub shoulders with A-list stars and Netflix bosses in hopes of building a successful career outside the Royal Family.

I completely respect his effort. But it might have been more meaningful if he had taken a page from William’s book and advocated for the causes that mattered most to him, using his celebrity connections to further his ideas.

Hollywood stars are known for leveraging their fame, wealth, and platforms to support a variety of charitable causes through global campaigns, personal foundations, and grassroots initiatives.

High-profile figures often advocate particular movements and work closely with well-known charities to raise funds. For example, Sir Elton John’s Aids Foundation has raised millions over the decades for Sir David and Lady Victoria Beckham, leading advocates for UNICEF, to help end the HIV epidemic.

Archewell Foundation has met with famous stars over the years; specifically through Meghan’s podcast, Archetypes, where she discusses female empowerment with stars like Paris Hilton, Mariah Carey, and Serena Williams.

Unfortunately, Spotify pulled the plug on the passion project after just one season in 2023.

But all is not lost. Meghan has the ability to use her status as a Duchess to do what William has been doing all along.
