Prince William set to make one touching move with Prince George ‘soon’ | Royal | News

Prince William is said to be planning to take his eldest son to help the homeless, while Prince George is set to follow in his father’s footsteps with a meaningful visit. The Prince of Wales will reportedly take George to Centrepoint, the London charity he has supported for 20 years.
It’s been twenty years since William followed in his mother’s footsteps and became patron of the Centrepoint charity. Princess Diana took William to the same shelter when he was just 11 years old (one year younger than George’s current age). Tackling homelessness has become an issue very close to William’s heart.
A royal source said: “George speaks to Charlotte and Louis frequently about homelessness. It’s an issue he’s incredibly passionate about.”
To talk Daily MailThe source added: “‘He wants to take George to a homeless shelter soon and meet the wonderful people who inspired him to create Homewards and the people who will eventually be supported by this project.”
The future king will be honored at a celebration marking his 20th anniversary on Tuesday, where he is expected to receive a cake from royal baker Juliet Sear, known for her Bruce Bogtrotter masterpiece in Netflix’s Matilda the Musical in 2022.
William became Centrepoint’s boss in 2005, more than a decade after Diana began supporting the organization in 1992.
Seyi Obakin OBE, chief executive of Centrepoint, revealed that the charity had produced a collection of photographs showing William’s involvement over the last two decades.
He said: “We collected photos of him in relaxed moments with young people, some of which had never been seen in public before.”
William also begins his ambitious five-year program, launched with the Royal Foundation in 2023, aimed at preventing homelessness across the UK.
It operates in six locally managed areas – Aberdeen, Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole, Lambeth, Newport, Northern Ireland and Sheffield – each receiving funding of up to £500,000.
By 2028, the aim is for these areas to be on track to end homelessness altogether, collaborating with a range of partner organisations, from frontline charities to large businesses.
