The Royal commentator, who followed Prince William and Princess Kate on their recent trip to Northern Ireland, revealed how competitive the pair have become while taking part in various activities.
The Princess of Wales made her first visit to Northern Ireland since October 2022 with her husband earlier this month.
The couple arrived for the surprise engagement on Tuesday morning, with Kensington Palace confirming they would spend the day “visiting innovative organizations showcasing growth and investment in rural areas and entrepreneurship and creative opportunities for young people”.
Their stops included an apple and potato bread-making session, where both royals rolled up their sleeves to pick apples before baking the traditional loaves.

He explained: “When they were making this apple and potato bread, at one point they had to peel the apples that they had already picked on this farm, William [was] ‘Go ahead,’ he tells Catherine. “In another situation that might have triggered some petting, and he said, ‘Yes, yes, yes,’ very playful.”
The apple-themed event also featured cider tastings at Long Meadow Cider, run by the McKeever family, including Catherine and her son Peter. Discussing the visit, Peter revealed details of his encounter with William and Kate and his conversation with the future monarch.
He noted: “The juice was freshly squeezed, no water or sugar added. They had it in its raw, pure form and absolutely loved it. William didn’t say what he liked as a favourite, but he did say he liked dry cider.”
Recent days have seen increased interest in William, not only because of his visit to Northern Ireland, but also because of his connections with his nephew and uncle Prince Andrew, who renounced the title of Duke of York following talks with King Charles.
This development sparked new conjectures about how William would treat the disgraced Andrew after his accession to the throne.
