Minister and Congress leader Satish Jarkiholi said on Sunday, November 16, 2025, that it would be better if the party high command clarifies the confusion regarding the party leadership in Karnataka.
He told reporters that his recent visit to Delhi was not political. “I went to Delhi along with KPCC general secretary Sunil Hanumannavar and met party general secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala while Mr. Hanumannavar was recently appointed as vice-president of NWKRTC. [North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation]” he said.
Responding to reports that he may be appointed as the next Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president, he said that the party high command will decide on the issue. “The population of the state is over 6 million. It is natural to have such discussions,” he said.
In response to a question, he stated that the party is following all the developments within the Karnataka Congress. “They are observing confusion about the leadership in the state. I think it would be good for senior officials to clarify this confusion,” he said.
“The expansion of the cabinet is not in our hands. The high command takes decisions on such matters. They will also take decisions on the party leadership,” he added.
Regarding the deaths of deer at Kittur Rani Chennamma Zoo in Bhutaramanhatti, the Minister stated that Forest Minister Ishwar Khandre has already ordered an investigation into the matter. He added that the truth behind the deer deaths will be revealed once the investigation is completed.
Responding to a question, he said, “There was a hope that we would win the Bihar elections. But our hope was dashed. But there are still doubts about EVMs. Without transparency, these doubts will continue till the end. ECI should clarify these doubts. But then the Bihar election results will not affect Karnataka.”
