Princess Charlotte new school contender – £15k a term and close to home | Royal | News

Princess Charlotte could be set to attend a prestigious school just minutes from the Prince and Princess of Wales’ home in Windsor. The young royal, who will celebrate her 11th birthday at the beginning of May, is currently a student at Lambrook School in Berkshire, but the school only caters for students up to the age of 13.
While her brother Prince George is preparing to move schools towards the end of this year and it is not yet known who will be chosen, Charlotte will follow in his footsteps two years later. Speaking in the latest episode of HELLO! A True Royal PodcastMelanie Sanderson, general editor of The Good Schools Guide, has revealed Wellington College in Berkshire is one of the candidates for Prince William’s only daughter.
Melanie said: “I was told Wellington was a possible school for Princess Charlotte.
“I suspect the normal rules probably don’t apply when it comes to the royal family. I have a feeling they may be holding more than one place at different schools.”
Wellington College, with fees ranging from £15,250 per term for day students and £20,750 for boarders, is a 15-minute drive from the family home, Forest Lodge.
Meanwhile, Prince George is expected to attend Eton College, Prince William and Prince Harry’s former school.
Wellington College is also a co-educational school, meaning Prince Louis, who celebrates his eighth birthday next month, could join his older sister later.
Melanie added: “If Charlotte is going to go co-ed they might want her brother Louis to join her. Logistically that would work really well for them. It’s 15 to 20 minutes down the M4 from Windsor Castle. Maybe ten with security. It’s a nice, easy ride.”
Besides Wellington, another contender is said to be Marlborough College, which Charlotte’s mother, Princess Catherine, also attended.
