Princess Diana 90s time capsule contains Kylie CD and pocket TV

Princess Diana visited Great Ormond Street Hospital in March 1991

In 1991, a time capsule was opened by the Wales Princess Diana at the Great Ormond Street Hospital (Gosh), and a Kylie Minogue CD emerged, a solar -powered calculator and passport.

The bullet -covered wooden box was sealed to mark the laying of the cornerstones of the various club building of the hospital opened in 1994.

The products in the capsule were selected by two children who won the Blue Peter competition and aimed to represent life in the 1990s. Other objects include mobile television, snowflake hologram and a photo of Princess Diana.

The time capsule had to be revealed in “hundreds of years”, but a child was excavated to lead to the construction of the cancer center.

Princess Diana became the president of Gosh in 1989, and in 1997 he visited the Children’s Hospital several times from his death.

He helped two children to choose the items to be placed in the time capsule.

The Kylie Minogue’s Rhythm of Love, which was released in 1990 and contains the songs of ‘Better The Devil Boyan’, was one of the 10 items including the CD of the album and ‘Shock’.

The CD was later elected by David Watson at the age of 11, Paignon, Devon. He also chose a recycled paper and passport.

Sylvia Foulkes, 9 years old from Norwich, chose a collection of British coins, a container with five tree seeds, and a snowflake hologram.

In the box, the capsule also included a copy of the Times newspaper since the grave date.

The titles on the front page include: “Cooked meats reveal Soviet voters in drags” – as well as a photograph of former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, as well as “rejecting the US Iraq warplans close to the rebels”.

The images published by archives do a little damage to objects, but are largely intact.
